No, we didn't...  The operators were asked to the time before last, but it
was forgotten.  However, I passed the request onto the manager of the group
to make sure we get a dump the next time.

We asked CA about the call not returning and they said it was not their
problem since the call to an external module never returned to "their
control".

Offline, BMC, I must say, has been very helpful.  We're not there yet but,
once we get that next dump, they are, or will be, waiting to see what they
can find.

Did you take a console dump of the relevant address spaces and submit it to
both vendors? If not, I suggest doing so.
