While the corporate/government espionage agent may not be as technically savy as the local sysprog or CE, when they get the stolen media back to their headquarters, it would get turned over to real experts. Just because the incidents to-date have been fairly benign, doesn't mean that professional thieves have not stolen data, they just haven't been discovered yet. That is the sign of a good thief, that you haven't noticed the theft yet.
