OK, I misunderstood the context of your answer.  It makes sense now.  A very
good use for BLSR.

FWIW, I have recently had opportunity to try SMB (System Managed Buffering,
AMP=ACCBIAS=DO/SO/SYSTEM) and found it worked quite as well or even a little
better than BLSR for random access.  Others in my organization have tested
the sequential optimization (ACCBIAS=SO) with somewhat less spectacular
results, but improvements nonetheless.  These tests were all done with a
default REGION of 64M and no REGION overrides.

The one gotcha is that the files MUST be in an EXTENDED DATACLAS.  Most
annoying restriction, IMHO, especially when such classes are restricted
access as they are here.
