Thanks Ted, Dana, and Jeff for the info. Seems like FTP may be more of a problem than I thought. All of our socket apps are vendor supplied and some of the vendors are a bit slow to respond. I'm not even sure what socket API some things are using.
I'm going to spend a few days experimenting with both stacks and then make a decision on what to do. I think I just IPLed in CINET mode for the first time, although I just have the IBM stack started at the moment. BTW, all work is being done in a test LPAR :). I don't get much direction here from mgmt. My orders amount to "get everything done as soon as possible!". If we want to get 1.7 in production ASAP we probably should forget about IBM TCP for now and get on with app testing using CA. Maybe not, though. Right now I could bug y'all to death with questions.
