How did the entries in your test lpar catalog get created? If it was
part of the copy process, that implies your test catalog is accessible
from the production lpar. If so, then you can use the DELETE NOSCRATCH
and the DEFINE NVSAM commands in ICDAMS to update the test catalog prior
to IPLing the test lpar.

Subject: Dataset Recovery issue.

I have a volume I'm trying to rebuild. The volume id is zosx99 on my
prod system.

I copy various dataset over from prod volume zosct3 to volume volume
zosxx9.

I then vary off zosx99 (91B) and ICKDSF(reformat) volume zosx99 to
zosct3.

Now I try to IPL my test lpar but can't access the datasets on the test
zosct3 because the datasets are know on this volume as zosx99.

Is there anyway to copy datasets to volume zosx99 and have the show up
as being on volume zosct3?

Example:

SYS1.RACFBACK.D040507 ,
      , ZOSX99
