> Tape/Copy from Prince Software Tape/Copy from OpenTech Systems?
I've used the product to migrate virtual tapes from one Virtual Tape System to the next a couple of times. We also use it in combination with OpenTech's VDR (Virtual Disaster Recovery) to vault virtual tapes offsite. The virtual tapes are assigned special vault codes by CA1. We use these vault codes to group tapes by anticipated expiration date by CA1. Then we use TapeCopy/VDR batch jobs to combine all the virtual tapes with the same vault code for that day & stack them on very large 'container' tapes, which are then vaulted offsite. Prior to implementing this process, we would have over 20,000 tapes shipped to a DR - now it's less than 1000 container tapes. We run a weekly re-cycle which takes container tapes less than 15% full and moves the valid data forward to a new container tape. I'd say Tape/Copy could do the job for you. dd keller ************************************************************************************** This e-mail message and all attachments transmitted with it may contain legally privileged and/or confidential information intended solely for the use of the addressee(s).
