I knew about DFDSS doing the filesystem quiesce. That didn't apply because the zFS container file actually belongs to another z/OS image which does not have access to a tape drive. So I had to UNMOUNT it to that image (no we are not sysplex). I went ahead and used DFDSS anyway. Man, Oracle is HUGE. This is the install zFS and the zFS file spanned two 3390-3 volumes. I'm beginning to run into problems with not enough DASD for UNIX files on my sandbox/installation system. I actually had to "borrow" two "spares" for the install. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
