ASM creates two sets of I/O control blocks for each page data set - one to be used for any kind of request, and a a second set to be used for a single page read if the first set is busy. As far as I know, that applies to PLPA and Common data sets as well as Local. Common could have a long output channel program due to page steal processing, and I suppose PLPA could also if common becomes full and overflows to PLPA. Jim Mulder z/OS System Test IBM Corp.
