Hello Shmuel Your first stop should be the IMS V8 Release Planning Guide. You can find it here. http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/public/applications/publications/cgibin/pbi.cgi?CTY=US&FNC=SRX&PBL=GC271305
I am very surprised that you have found the V8 SVCs to be incompatible with V6. Page 23 of this document ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/data/ims/shelf/presentations/imstechconf2003/E56.pdf Indicates that migration from V6 to V8 is supported. You must ensure that you have the V6/V8 coexistance APARs applied to your V6 system. A google search of "IMS V8 Release Planning Guide" should give you plenty of fodder. You should cross-post your question to the IMS-L listserver if you have more detailed questions. Write me directly if you don't know how to register for IMS-L. It appears that I can't use the V8 SVC routines for IMS V6; are there any other coexistence or migration issues that I should be aware of? -- Shmuel (Seymour J.)
