took it by a VP from the systems area at Irving Trust Bank. I think MVS/SP was just out, and the then-new Lock Manager was a big topic. In those pre-OCO days, we went through the Lock Manager code just about line by line. That was a great educational experience. Would that we could have more like that one. >> Yeah that's the thing IBM just doesn't get. By abandoning the .edu's in pricing and learning they loose exposure and experience of MVS working set. I was just reading a confidential memo about a semi-boot hill conversion from one of the bluest .edu's. Over committed DASD during flashcopy and wouldn't boot. Finally ended up exporting and importing to new copy. So far about 72hrs per subsystem (there are eighteen). So tragic had to shut down distance ED and schools all over the country are unable to get their academically ineligible atheletes eligible midterm...the shame of it all!!! ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
