Hi Walter, Several of our customer sites are using the MAS (I think they number over 30). I wrote several utility programs that are now offered with the MAS, and I have some others that they (as yet) don't include with the product. One of them (since you're z/OS.e) is a very quite (4 step) process that eliminates the necessity of you needing a tape management system to keep the MAS and your catalogs in sync.
I've been impressed with the MAS, it has a lot of features that are very useful, and when it's a fit for your site, it can work out very well. One thing to keep in mind though is that if it doesn't fit, don't try to force it to work for you. There are some more sophisticated VTS's out there for sites that need all of the extra features, but if you don't, it can be a very cost effective unit.
