Ron, What some of the folks on this list have been trying to say is: Have you tried using a "userID.FTPS.RC" dataset on the mainframe? You can put CD (or CWD) and SITE commands into this file. When FTP-client "userID" connects to the mainframe's FTP server, contents of this file are executed. If there's a command, e.g. "CD /application/xyz" in the file, then that's going to be the user's default directory. Doesn't that solve your problem?
