Never removed?
<SNIP>

Never. Binder replaced it. And just as Binder was coming available I had
the source in my hot little hands (I was a contractor doing development
for IBM at STL at the time) and it was a simple fix. But the person in
charge of the Binder project had control of Linkedit and told me to
leave it alone. Since it was not directly part of the project I was on,
and we could wait for Binder, I dropped it.
