There are specific instructions that interpret bit 0 of the 32-bit[1]
branch address as AMODE31. See your friendly neighborhood PoOps for
switching between AMODE24 and AMODE31.
[1] In AMODE64 it would be bit 32, and I haven't checked how, e.g.,
BSM, behave in that mode.
