You need to issue the command,
quote site recfm=vb
... did you do that? Even so, this sequence of operations will
likely lose the original positions of the logical record boundaries.
However, if it's "ok" as you say after download to the OPEN system
which has no logical record structure, the logical record boundaries
must be inconsequential, and it shouldn't matter where they are
after re-uploading to the HOST.
