In any case, I still would be able to better understand the capabilities of these 2 pieces of encryption hardware, so I'd still like to know: 1. Will CEX2 do DES/3DES/EAS-128 encryption using clear keys if CPACF is disabled? 2. If so, what is the relative performance of each vs software? Is the same amount of workload offloaded? 3. Does CEX2 perform SHA hashing? 4. If CEX2 can do the work and CPACF is disabled, will System SSL switch from issuing CPACF instructions to making ICSF calls?
