The Walloons (Southern part of Belgium) speak French. Dutch is the common standard language for The Netherlands and Flanders (Northern part of Belgium). Though the written language is very much the same, you'll definitely hear it when speaking to a Dutch (< Netherlands) or Flemish person. In Flanders there are still some very distinct Flemish dialects. They tend to be spoken less than before but they are certainly not dead. Well, that's all for our Friday cultural lesson on Belgium and stuff. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
