Huh? What have you got against judicious use of DISPLAY so that you want
to call the programmer an idiot?
--------------------<unsnip>----------------------
Far too many programmers earn the nickname "IDIOT". There's a HUGE
difference between testing on 100-200 data records and production on
200,000-350,000 CBOT trade records. A DISPLAY command "COULD" be a
wonderful debugging tool, but common sense MUST prevail. When debugging
is complete, REMOVE IT!
I can't remember how many times I got a call at "oooooh-dark thirty"
because a programmer left an active DISPLAY command in a program and the
consoles were flooded with "Record Received and Processed" messages. And
I can tell you that programmers don't like getting the same call, from
me, 5 minutes later.
Can we say "education and enough common sense to come in out of the rain" ??
