There is an interesting (???) thread in comp.lang.cobol that I thought some in IBM-MAIN want to look at. It does includes its "the mainframe is just as dead as COBOL statements", but I still think that some in IBM-MAIN would be interested in the comments about Java, COBOL, and the mainframe.
