I was asked this question and I have to admit I am so clueless I'm not even sure how to google it. >> If you're talking AFP attached printers INFO/Print has a separate(but free FMID) called transformer to handle this. Then in printer setup you tell it how to process the input. IIRC the pc2AFP transforms are free and the AFP2pc are payfor. Where pc includes PS,PCL,PDF,SAP and maybe a couple other I can't remember. There is and AFP list over at Topica.com but doesn't see much action. The other side of the coin is the Printer features. From the 1140 on down they are multi-server knowledgeable. And can do AFP/PS/PCL over IP and have a serial port for direct PC attachment. I forget the model numbers but one LAN admin was in tears 'cause he couldn't get it to motor. Course the postage stamp size IPDS chip had been discarded with the other packing material. _www.printers.ibm.com_ (http://www.printers.ibm.com) was a good source of knowledge. Now that Ricoh has purchased the printers division don't know how things have been. **************Start the year off right.
