The serial number looks like the output from STIDP (Store CPU ID) where the format is: version code - 1 byte (00) Logical Partition ID - 1 byte CEC serial number - 2 bytes Machine type - 2 bytes Actually there are another 2 bytes at the end where the first bit is the format type. This is format 1 output.
