It is becoming more common. At IDUG in May there will be no handouts (but the attendees will get a DVD with all the presentations.)
Mark Hammond -----Original Message----- It is more and more likely that you will see fewer and fewer handouts at SHARE in the future. The trend seems to be toward not 'requiring' or not 'suggesting' that speakers provide handouts for their sessions. A position that I very strongly support. Providing handouts is expensive. I paid $122 for the 25 handouts for my session. That's $122 that I would much rather spend on other things. A large number of attendees bring laptops and/or Blackberrys to the conference. Most presenters (like myself) will put the presentation on the SHARE web site well before SHARE. You are certainly welcome to download the presentation at any time, even when you are sitting in the session so that you can follow along. Open up Word or your fave text editor and take notes. Make a note of the page number so that it's easy to keep track of which note relates to which page. It doesn't take much to look at the handouts table on Friday morning to see how much paper is just going to be *wasted* when SHARE is done. Shame, shame... This needs to change.
