How about a totally new EX type instruction. This one executes the single instruction built into a 64-bit register. This could handle any / all instructions from 2 to 8 bytes in length. And since the largest instruction is 6 bytes long, that is all of them. Just create the instruction in a register, then "execute" the register contents. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
