Ted, I sent it because when we started the previous beta, I received more than 20 emails from people on the list that complained that they didn't know about the beta in enough advance time and thus were not allowed to participate because of the 150 site limit.
My apology was only because I felt that it was off topic from the "normal" information on the list, and didn't want it to appear like a marketing effort.
