I have a problem that I hope someone has come across before and has or knows
of a utility to program that will help me out.

I have a corrupt IMS Referral library and it seems to have been corrupted
for a long time. I have no good back ups of it. It has over 14,000 members
and looking at it there seems to be a very large number that are NG.

I am thing that if I can read the first record of each member and compare it
to the member name I will be able to delete all the bad members. Then it
will be up to the development team to add any missing members.

Check out the RECOVER function of PDS. Members without directory pointers are given a new directory entry with a screwball name. This will allow you to examine each (deleted) member. If your examination can tell you the proper member name, you can just rename it to the correct name.

Download the PDS utility from <www.cbttape.org>; be sure you get the latest and greatest. Installation is a piece of cake.
