At one time I calculated the cost to be the same as the COBOL compiler. We could not justified the cost of either compiler, so we route all of compiler jobs to another data center that has all the compilers. They charge us for both processor time and DASD, but that still only amounts to pennies per job. A lot cheaper than licensing any compilers.
