The reply from programming: "We never needed it before! Why do we need it just because the VSAM file is OPEN on a different system? It works fine if the job is run on the same system. This breaking of the system in twain was supposed to be transparent!" And, of course, any change has to be scheduled, tested, run through Q&A, then place into production. This will take a minimum of a month.
