Andy - We reported a very similar issue (abend878 in ARCnBKUP) and it turned out to be a problem with TicToc/ATF (OA23255). The APAR just closed and the fixing PTF (UA40486) is available. This may or may not be your issue, so it wouldn't hurt to open an ETR for verification.
