Well, the "old-timey" player pianos were pneumatic, and the "scrolls
with holes" that played them were arguably equivalent to "program card
decks".  And given the mechanical sophistication of 17th-century pipe
organs, I'd not be surprised to learn that someone had built at least
one "player pipe organ".
