this is no joke - we had an govt-approved audit program that attempted to
check for 'user-id as password' by attempting to login as that user with
his/her userid as password (and noting where the login was successful) -
reasonable - right? - WELL  - someone decided to run this program twice in
the same day - and of course 100+ folks (who had previously failed on their
last logon attempt and temporarily given up or those who subsequently
mistyped their passwords) got ACF2 suspended. When asked - the auditors
reply was "wow - does that knock  out users on the mainframe too? we
stopped running this on (whatever non-mainframe platforms) months ago .....
go figure .....
