Much depends on the type of error and the  printer. For simple stuff
$E prtn should clear the printer buffer and  depending on how you checkpoint 
is defined should be able to resume. 'course  if it blows the printer out of 
the water you gets to IML the controller and  again depending on checkpoint can 
skip forward nn pages. It's a complicated  problem with numerous variables 
not completely under the system's control. We  had one where the user had 
specified a FORMs FLASH in the FORMDEF/PAGEDEF and  sent it to the page 
printer(maybe a 3827). Really ugly, had to IML the  printer, bounce PSF and 
HOTSTART JES 
to get it cleared  out.
