Sorry folks, I suffered a brain lock on that reply (no pun intended). Yes, you need a common time source (i.e. timer). Previously that was the 9037 Sysplex Timer, and now it can be Server Time Protocol (STP, which has no physical boxes). I was getting confused and thinking that Ted was talking about an external time reference -- mixing that up with another recent thread here -- and then botching my answer anyway.
