problems? How many systems in your Sysplex? We have 7 LPARs currently

sandbox systems into a test only Sysplex.

Hi Sam,
We converted our 5 sysplexes to use msgbased event management. We did
our largest sysplex (8 way) in January when they were all z/OS 1.8 systems.
We did not experience any problems. The volume that has the CFRM couple
dataset (also has the OMVS couple dataset) went from an average of I/O rate
of 17.3 to 16.5 per second.

Since that time we have converted about half of those systems in that sysplex
to z/OS 1.9 without any problem. Our z/OS 1.9 systems don't have OA21917
(UA38901) or OA24563 (UA41002) applied. We are doing the other systems in
a couple of weeks.

Our next maintenance rollout will be RSU0806 which will have UA38901 and
UA41002 applied. Per recommendation of XCF level 2 we will being going back
to policy based event management to comply with the hold action for
UA41002, because we will ipl half of the systems one month and the others the
next month for the RSU0806 maintenance.

Doug
