Ted, We have been looking at replacing our job scheduler and BMC offered job-based pricing to us as well. It appears they have been offering this for over a year now.
I asked how it works and was told, IIRC, that a canned report would show the number of unique jobs that were run for the month. When that number exceeded the amount for which you were licensed, you would be expected to contact BMC and they would increase your license and they would invoice you. An "upgrade" of sorts. Don't know if it was negotiated. It must have been. I was the technical resource on the negotiation team. We just managed to reduce the cost per MSU, and SCRT-based pricing. Wish we had thought of job-based! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
