are setup to forward to DNS servers that thier ISP provides. That way
they rely on their ISP's DNS server's cache and do one query instead
of going from the root dns servers, to the next level, to the next
level, and so on.
I was wrong. Our public name server has been setup with split views.
It's recursive only for queries coming in from 127.0.0.1, and from
segments inside the firewall. The server is non-recursive to everyone else.
