There's an announcement that extended support will be available (for a charge) for z/OS 1.7 if you're a little behind in your upgrade to z/OS 1.8 or (preferably now) 1.9. Details here:

Also, if you are still on z/OS 1.7 (or prior), please order z/OS 1.9 now so you will have it available for your upgrade. Soon after z/OS 1.10 is released next month, z/OS 1.9 will no longer be orderable.
