HI, IBM-MAIN go with my product long way. I decide to honor you and let you read what customer have to say about the product.
Yes, I know that this is not a perfect testimony, but this is the first one. This is a new product and more must be done, and I ready to go with it. I did not change a line. I give it to you as is. >>> About Fundi Software Fundi Software is a privately held software development company that specializes in the development of systems management software for IBM mainframe systems. Fundi’s software is marketed exclusively by IBM globally. Fundi’s customers are Global 2000 companies running high performance, mission critical IBM system. Fundi is located in Perth, Western Australia. Requirement for a mainframe storage solution Fundi develops software that analyzes log files from z/OS and its subsystems. During product testing and support Fundi use massive log files. For example, Fundi has IMS log files of 15000 cylinders that contain only 20 minutes of logging. Fundi needs a cost-effective and reliable storage solution that can handle such massive files and keep them available on disk for regression testing. Why MFNetDisk? As Fundi’s storage requirements grew, it needed a more cost-effective storage solution than traditional DASD without compromising speed and availability. Most of the alternatives Fundi investigated were hardware-based and effectively no cheaper than its current solution. MFNetDisk provided Fundi with an easy and cost-effective solution. One of the best things about MFNetDisk is that, being software-based, it allowed Fundi to purchase its own choice of hardware at affordable prices. If suitable spare desktops or server PCs are available, customers do not have to purchase any hardware at all. Evaluating MFNetDisk To evaluate MFNetDisk, Fundi used a low-specification desktop PC with a 320GB hard drive running Windows XP Professional. Fundi defined and formatted three simulated 3390 disks (mod 3). Fundi loaded IMS log files onto the simulated 3390 disks with great success. Even on this low-spec PC, there were no response-time issues reading log files, or creating new log files from extracted data. During the 12-week trial period Fundi requested some modifications to the MFNetDisk software to augment the product stability and robustness. The turnaround time was phenomenal and the responses to Fundi’s questions and suggestions were exemplary. After the trial period, Fundi purchased a new server PC with substantial storage capacity. Fundi defined a number of 3390 mod 27 disks for use during its z/OS 1.9 product download (to HFS file system). This worked perfectly, and saved the company a substantial amount of time during the download/installation process. Due to the affordability and robustness of MFNetDisk, the business case to purchase the software was straight forward. The ROI for the MFNetDisk purchase could be achieved in just a few months. With the success so far, Fundi has decided to use MFNetDisk for DFHSM level 2 migration. It was integrated seamlessly and easily into Fundi’s DFHSM environment. Noticeable reductions in the overall operations involvement and the backup processing and window have also been achieved. Fundi are currently looking at performing backups to simulated devices. This will allow the business to run offsite backups during the day and reduce the operations involvement even further. Conclusion With Fundi’s primary focus on mainframe software and hardware, it admitted being somewhat skeptical about using a Windows-based application that purported to simulate mainframe like functionality and reliability. However, MFNetDisk quickly put this to rest. Throughout the evaluation and implementation cycle, Fundi has had an amazing experience with MFNetDisk and its creators. When our support specialists found something that needed fixing, it was done either the same day or the next day. MFNetDisk provided a fantastic all-round service. The people at MFNetDisk are open to suggestions and constructive criticism. They are a great team to work with. Fundi would like to thank Shai Hess and the rest of the team at MFNetDisk for a great product and fantastic service! >>> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
