The host name would be the IP host name of your mainframe, the lpar where the
printers are connected. Your mainframe network support folks can tell you the
name to use. Depending on how your printer is set up and driven you may not be
able/or need to use the port server. Are your printers driven by InfoPrint or
PSF? In my shop they are driven by PSF, so I cannot use the port server. With
PSF, the proc that specifies the PSF values for each PSF printer can contain
coding for a disconnect interval. If the disconnect interval is not coded, it
defaults to PSF/JES owning the printers and not sharing the printer with any
other hosts. I do the JES2 and PSF setup in my shop and I have DISCINTV=10,
which provides for a 10 second disconnect interval timeout so that the printer
can service other hosts. A number of folks (including me) print different
kinds of files from their workstations frequently.

If the disconnect interval is not currently coded in your PSF proc, it can be
added and then all of the printers on that proc will need to be drained. The
proc is usually set up to automatically end if all the printers on that proc
are drained and restarted at the first JES2 command to start any one of the
printers on that proc.

Let me know if this resolves your problem. There are some other things that
can cause this problem - what I have suggested is usually 'it', but not always.
