It was a test system and if it crashed  the only person it would of
affected was me.

Better (safer) choice (IMO).

These address spaces sometimes 'trip' over contention issues, rarely is
there a problem.
But, I think you were fortunate.
It made you convert to, what I think, is a better practice.
But, it's not my shop.
