Probably - but only IBM knows for sure.

OA25618 does only affect SMSPDSE1 according to the APAR, but
since SMSPDSE1 is optional, I wonder if the same bug is present
if you only run SMSPDSE.

Anyway... my post in the other thread (which I purposely posted in
with a different subject line) was a "joke"... not meant for technica
accuracy. I just found it ironic that we had 2 different bugs
due to PEs running on a few of our z/OS 1.9 development LPARs where
the work arounds were the exact opposite of each other. Since I didn't
have buffer_beyond_close active, OA21934 didn't affect us, but we did
run into OA25618 as I already mentioned in the other thread.

Actually, this would have been a 3rd thread because you changed my
subject line. I've changed it back to the original subject for the
archives.

I agree with what you are saying based on what I have read, but was hoping
for more information from someone who may have already researched this.

It's not a support issue - it's a usage issue. But we pay for that so
I will open a PMR. I'll also bring up OA21934 and ask that the APAR text
be updated to include PDSE1 if appropriate.

Cheers,
