Thanks to all for the help.
The logstreams with the most issues are the CICS ones for DFHJ01. They
seem to have offload datasets going back to when the use of logstreams
was implemented in CICS. CICS person is going to investigate changing
the AUTODELETE to YES and determine the best way to handle the existing
offload datasets that have been migrated and probably are not needed.

Anne,

Manual SA22-7625 "Setting up a Sysplex" is *the* manual to answer all
your questions with regard to Sysplex issues.

Chapter 9.5 Deleting log data and log data sets, states:
In general, applications should handle deletion of log data from a log
stream.
If the application does not manage deletion, the installation might be
able to use the retention period and automatic deletion functions in
system logger to manage the amount of log data you keep in each log
stream

So you should first check what logstread management your application
does. If you delete data from the logstream, that the application needs
later, you will create problems.

Chapter 9.4.6 Managing log data: How much? For how long?
Explains more about deleting logstream data.

Kees.

dataset if all entries in the dataset are marked as logically deleted.
That is controled by the RETPD and AUTODELETE parm.
