It's odd, but WAD. I went through this with IBM a few years back. Even though a CF can only be owned by one 'PLEX, and it is not defined in your policies for a specific one, every image will poll every online CF, just in case one shows up with work for it to do (IBM wording). I argued, vehemently, that this was wrong. You have to do a lot of work to get a CF usable by a 'PLEX, so why poll the undefined ones? They didn't listen; they have/had no intention of changing the design. And, it gets worse! The CF being polled has to tear itself away from the 'PLEX it's servicing to respond to this (useless) poll, impacting the response from valid users. This impact is almost as bad as that from sharing CF cp's. - Too busy driving to stop for gas! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
