In the 3rd quarter recently completed, System z hardware revenues increased 25 percent year over year. MIPS shipments grew 49 percent, including a whopping 120 percent growth in specialty engine MIPS. (You can do the math on what that means for price-performance.)
System z enjoyed double digit growth in all geographies and was one of IBM's highest growth businesses. IBM believes that System z gained server marketshare.
