Willie, You can do one of two things:
A. Allocate a large enough Journal that will hold 24 hours of activity. B. Intercept ARC0909E Journal msg. and issue Backvol CDS command using your automation tool of choice. Option A works 99% of the time. A recycle of your entire ML2 or Backup pool to change tape media might exhaust it. You can issue HSEND Q CDS periodically to see how much room you have left. When you get to 80-90%, issue a Backvol CDS. ________________________________________ From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of willie bunter [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, November 14, 2008 9:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: ARC0909E JOURNAL DATA SET IS ABOUT 095% FULL Good Day To All, I had a problem recently when the Journal filled up. I noticed that DFHSM held all activities and issued " DFHSM BACKVOL HAS BEEN ISSUED". My question is how can I be proactive in preventing this problem? Thanks in advance for your responses. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
