Yes, that's a very good point:

I tend to prepend the word "distributed" if I'm referring to other
(non-z/OS) UNIXes (UNIces?), and that serves pretty well. Or you could say
"the non-z/OS UNIX world," or perhaps "the UNIX world (ex-z/OS)."
