SHARE and IBM don't have identical agendas but both want more money. SHARE is obviously trying attract more attendees. If that means emphasizing themes that appeal to upper management they will emphasize those themes. And if IBM has played up those themes to its customer's upper management then it should not come as a shock to hear the same buzz words from both. But on the other hand, ... We Systems Programers in the trenches aren't always the first to see trends. From conversations I've heard at SHARE, SOA *is* making an appearence in shops, at least on paper. Eventually someone is going to ask those in the trenches to explain what SOA means to us. Maybe the answer is "Lots"; maybe it's "Nothing". In either case, the answer should not be "I don't know". In other words, just maybe SHARE is presenting themes members are asking for ... even if that is so its members can better identify meaningless fads.
