I don't have an answer in any case, but the answer probably 
depends on which features of XMITIP are important to you.  Which
features do you need?

I know that many shops do not allow freeware in production, but
if you do not have that kind of restriction, XMITIP is a pretty good 
tool for other than absolutely business-critical production work.  Its
non-support is actually pretty good, and there are a lot of users on 
IBM-Main that can quickly provide help for usage and configuration
questions.  I see there is also an XMITIP Yahoo group.  I don't kow 
anything about it, but ust joined it myself.
