Are you sure ADRDSSU will restore tapes created in VSE by IDCAMS BACKUP ?
I don't think I ever heard of an MVS utility that will restore these tapes.

Of course, IDCAMS EXPORT/IMPORT or REPRO can be used on both sides, 
but they're not the most convenient way to transfer a lot of files.

If you have Faver2 in VSE, you can use Faver1 in MVS to restore VSAM files.  
If you have Macro4's DATABACK utility in VSE and MVS, you can use them also.  
If you have DrD in VSE, DRDMVS can be used to restore DrD back-up tapes.

Another possibility is XFERD3V/XFERD3M, which are described here:
