If any of you have experience with such requirement can contribute some bullets such: 1. Level of the health check done by the customer (for ex: using some tools/utilities to check DB2 internal structure or VSAM files.) Depends on what you use. We use tape and will use a utility to scan random tapes as they return home to insure that something has not damaged the media or the readability of the data on it. As for structure, see 2. 2. Is IPL of the backed up system is necessary for the health check and so on. Yes. On a periodic basis (annual) a DR test should be performed which tests the ability to bring the system and applications up from the backups. This verifies structure of the data on the tape. No need for details just main issues coming up when considering the subject. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
