LDMF still depends on the data sets not being active at some point in
order to complete the process.  It also wasn't supported for HFS nor zFS
the last time I checked (though that could have changed).

But TDMF is supported AFAIK.  You can still use TDMF if going to a higher 
geometry also but it won't help for logically consolidating volumes. 

Other than that, you have to do it the old fashioned way and bring down
the application(s) using the file system, unmount it, and move it.
